Simply put, if Deer Valley shoots like this again Thursday night, the Skyhawks will repeat as 4A boys basketball champions.
In Monday's all West Valley semifinal against #8 Dysart, #4 Deer Valley (25-5) sank eight three pointers in the first three quarters to put away the game with a 57-37 lead.
A 3-2 matchup zone with long-limbed defenders powered the Demons' playoff rout of Paradise Honors and 56-55 upset of top seed Tucson Sahuaro March 1. Time and again Monday, the defending champs penetrated the zone time and again to set up a better look from three in a 67-41 victory.
