Celebrate ‘Galentine’s Day’ in downtown Glendale this weekend

It’s all about the love between friends as Historic Downtown Glendale presents Galentine’s Day this weekend with a day of activities to gather your best girlfriends together to honor the value of female friendships.

The locally owned businesses in the Catlin Court and Old Towne shopping districts have created a day to celebrate the friendships women share with experiences that include handcrafting a decorative pin, designing a floral arrangement, decorating cookies, a permanent jewelry class, and making your own custom perfume.

The celebration goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 in downtown Glendale.

“You will also find lovely gift ideas at the unique boutiques and specialty shops and sweet treats to satisfy your sweet tooth,” Valerie Burner, Bears & More owner and event chairperson, shared in a press release.

Downtown Glendale is made up of two distinct historic districts: Catlin Court featuring welcoming front porches lined with picket fences, and the Old Towne District with unique shops and a growing Restaurant Row all nestled along red brick sidewalks. The two districts span 12 blocks filled with locally owned small businesses.

Start your Galentine’s Day journey at the Arizona Information Center, located at Memory Lane Trinkets and Treasures at 5836 W. Palmaire Ave., to pick up the activity list and walking map.

Galentine’s Day is presented by the Historic Downtown Glendale Merchants Association, a merchant driven organization.
