Altay: We must speak out against invasion of Azerbaijan

Posted

On July 12, the Armenian army began an offensive against Azerbaijan in cross-border artillery strikes.

Although the offensive was repelled, three Azerbaijani soldiers died.

UN SC resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884 call Armenia to withdraw its troops, yet it continues to occupy 17% of Azeri territories. Yerevan is a party to Kremlin-run CSTO, allowing Russia to dictate rules of game in Caucasus.

With Putin hinting at Russia’s claims to former Soviet lands and Armenia’s doctrine of coordinating its foreign policy with Russia, it is a clear Armenian attack against a US ally, Azerbaijan.

And it is a purposeful act of aggression against our national interests in the Caucasus.

We must voice our concerns and condemn Armenia’s actions and stand with our allies Azerbaijan and Georgia!
