A suspect stole a French Bulldog in Glendale worth more than $4,000, and police are looking for both.
The dog was snatched just before 7 p.m. on Oct. 5 from a manufactured home park near the 6300 block of West Maryland Avenue.
A female victim was out walking her dog when she was approached by a male suspect who made comments about the dog and the cost of the breed, according to police. At one point, the male suspect physically fought with the female victim.
The woman tried wrapping the leash around her arm to prevent the male suspect from taking the dog, but the physical altercation became quite severe and during the attack the woman lost grip of the leash and the suspect managed to get away with the dog.
The victim said the male suspect also had a female subject inside the car with him when he took off with her dog. Police say the two were last seen in a dark blue Chevy Equinox.
Police are seeking the public’s help to not only identify the suspects, but hopefully to safely return the dog to his owners.
The suspects are facing several felony charges, since the dog has a value of more than $4,000, according to investigators.
Residents are encouraged to call 623-930-3000 with any information about the suspects or the dog.
