The Kolache Cafe opened a location May 15 at 3635 S. Val Vista Drive, suite 107, Gilbert. It is part of a four-site expansion for the bakery, which started with one location in Ahwautukee and now has two more in Mesa with a third planned for that city. Kolaches are a Czech pastry with puffy dough surrounding a filling, often of fruit. They have become especially popular in Texas. 480-257-2414. https://thekolachecafe.com
