Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s Youth Awards to honor high school seniors throughout region

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation has announced the Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards recipients for the region that includes Arizona and New Mexico.
Thirty local high school seniors will be honored for their leadership in the classroom and community during a virtual ceremony on March 3.
According to a press release, three student recipients of Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards will be honored in various categories from entrepreneurship to technology. Some local awardees include the following:
Business/Entrepreneurship (sponsored by Wells Fargo)
Gold - Caitlin Campos - Phoenix
Community Service (sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive)
NBCUniversal/Telemundo
Bronze - María Pérez - Phoenix
Depending on covid restrictions, after regional ceremonies conclude, one national recipient per category, a total of 10, will be recognized and celebrated at the National Youth Awards Ceremony in person.

For more than two decades, the Youth Awards are the main feeder to the Latinx on Fast Track Leadership Institute, which focuses on leadership, workforce, community, culture, and social justice across 10 sectors, according to the release, noting 10 cohorts of 30 students ranging from high school seniors to college freshmen year.
The Hispanic Heritage Foundation is a national non-profit focused on education, workforce, social impact, and culture. more than 20,000 impactful Latinx high school students have been identified, celebrated, prepared, and connected countrywide through HHF’s 23-year-old Youth Awards program, and provided with more than $5 million in grants, the release stated.
