Gilbert’s top salaries put town in middle range of Valley pay scales

Gilbert’s highest-paid municipal employees earn less than their counterparts in Phoenix, Glendale, Scottsdale and Tempe but still rank near the upper tier of Valley government pay, a comparison of data from the cities shows.

An analysis of fiscal year 2024-25 municipal salary data shows Gilbert’s executive compensation is competitive within the East Valley but falls short of the pay levels seen in the region’s largest cities.

“The Town of Gilbert's compensation philosophy aims to ensure fair and equitable pay for employees at all levels of the organization in alignment with Phoenix metro area market data,” Chief People Officer Nathan Williams said by email. “We continuously monitor market trends and adjust our compensation strategy as needed to ensure we can attract, retain, and motivate the skilled professionals necessary to serve the needs of Arizona’s fourth largest city effectively.”
