Gilbert Town Council: We are grateful for efforts resulting in arrests

Posted

The past several months have been filled with heartbreak for the family and friends of Preston Lord. We are deeply grateful for every effort that resulted in the arrests and indictments over the last 24 hours. At the same time, we acknowledge that these arrests will not bring Preston back, but we remain steadfast and dedicated to ensuring the safety of everyone in our community.

This Gilbert Town Council firmly believes our youth are the future of our community and we strongly condemn any acts of teen violence. We are committed to partnering with parents, schools and our regional neighboring communities to explore ideas that not only support the safety of our youth but opportunities that allow for them to truly thrive. We continue to listen to the community’s concerns and proposed solutions and recognize none of us can do this alone.

We remain unwavering in our ongoing support of the Queen Creek Police Department, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and our own Gilbert Police Department in their pursuit of justice for Preston Lord and other victims of teen violence. Today, our solemn hearts lay with the Lord family.
