Gilbert selects consultant for parks and recreation service cost study

Gilbert Parks and Recreation has selected Matrix Consulting Group to conduct a comprehensive cost-of-service analysis of the department’s recreation programs, facility rentals and other services.

The analysis will examine the full cost of providing services, compare Gilbert’s operations with those of similar communities and evaluate the department’s current cost-recovery model. Town officials said the study is intended to help inform future decisions regarding parks and recreation services.

According to the town, while individual fees have been updated periodically, the department has not completed a comprehensive cost-of-service analysis in nearly 10 years.
