Gilbert Parks and Recreation has been named a finalist for the 2026 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management, marking the second consecutive year the department has received the recognition.
The award, presented by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association, recognizes agencies across the country for achievements in parks and recreation services.
Gilbert is one of four finalists in its population category, which includes communities with between 150,001 and 400,000 residents.
