Gilbert council postpones Bella Storia zoning amendment amid concerns over density, process

The Gilbert Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday to postpone a decision on a zoning amendment for the Bella Storia development until June 10, following a contentious discussion about a proposed increase in apartment units.

Council members strongly recoiled against seeing a larger and revised project with changes to the original design approved in October 2023 and let representatives for developer Vista Residential Partners know about it in no uncertain terms.

The amendment concerns Parcel B of the Bella Storia planned area development, a roughly 13-acre site at the northeast corner of Williams Field Road and Delatorre Boulevard.
