Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers replacing Famous 66

Posted

The 18th Arizona location of Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers will replace the Route 66-themed Famous 66 restaurant in Gilbert Town Square, the restaurants' owner announced.

Square One Concepts announced Dec. 4 it will make the change between two of its brands, but did not announce a date for the change at Gilbert Town Square, 1026 S. Gilbert Road, Gilbert.

It also becomes the 19th location overall of the popular ‘Neighborhood Burger Joint': 18 Arizona locations, and one in Euless, Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

“We heard our fans, and they want more of what Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers delivers every day of the week: great food, cold beers, and the ability to catch their favorite game and other sporting events in friendly, comfortable surroundings," S. Barrett Rinzler, founder & CEO of Square One Concepts, said in a release. "We are known for pleasing both families and sports fans on any given day and are delighted to bring Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers to Gilbert Town Square and the greater neighborhood."

This Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers location will be distinct from others with a "Shake & Bake" counter for ice-cream shakes and sandwiches, originally introduced by Famous 66; and the popular Car Shows, which will continue uninterrupted the first Tuesday of every month, the next one set for Jan. 7,  drawing car enthusiasts from throughout the Valley.

“I’m a huge car fan and collector myself,” Rinzler said.  “One of the most gratifying aspects of being in this neighborhood has been the car enthusiasts who gather at this site every month.  It’s been fantastic to see the car shows happen right here.”

Meanwhile, emblematic elements of Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers are coming soon, such as the 60-plus HD TV screens to catch sports action, a bar with sightlines of the adjacent side-wrapping patio with outdoor games, and, of course, the Shake & Bake counter for luscious .

“We’re building on the good times we’ve already established here and wrapping it with our popular Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers experience, just in time for the New Year,” Rinzler added.
