The Rotary Club of Sun Lakes recently honored its Chandler Unified School District Teacher of the Month for May. Tina Morseis a fourth-grade teacher at CUSD’s Navarrete Elementary School.
The selection is based on each teacher’s total years of service in the field of education, examples of how the teacher goes above the normal requirements and enhances student education, the respect shown for the teacher by her/his peers, students, and parents and the teacher’s involvement in extracurricular activities and service in the community.
A $500 check is awarded to the Sun Lakes Rotary teacher of the month. That amount includes $200 from the club, $200 from Earnhardt Automotive Center and $100 from Trust Bank.
Morse has been teaching since 2000. A submission from Navarrete Elementary Principal Vanessa Whitlark and nominating teachers Alice Hack and Shari Boucher said Morse is a forward thinker, arole-mode/mentor, exercises excellent teaching strategies, introduces students to innovative ideas and STEM projects and shares her discoveries with the rest of school’s teaching team.
