Chandler student earns $20K scholarship

Posted

Alexis Li, a senior at Hamilton High School, has been named a 2024 Coca-Cola Scholar and will receive a $20,000 college scholarship.

Fewer than 0.2 % of applicants were chosen to receive this year’s competitive award.

Li is one of 10 Arizonans to earn one of the 150 scholarships. The recipients were chosen from an initial pool of more than 100,000 applications from across the U.S.

Winners were chosen based on academic excellence, leadership, and service demonstrated in school and community activities as part of a three-stage selection process.

Li is a member of the 36th class of Coca-Cola Scholars. They’re invited to attend an April weekend event in Atlanta. Ga., where they will be the guests of honor at a banquet and participate in the Coca-Cola Scholars Leadership Development Institute, facilitated by program alumni.

The $3.1 million awarded in this year’s college scholarships brings Coca-Cola’s total to $84 million awarded to 6,900 scholars nationwide with over the past 36 years.
