CeCe’s Hope Center to honor Michael Pollack at Night of Light Gala

Event supports survivors of sex trafficking

CeCe’s Hope Center will host its annual Night of Light Gala on Saturday, Oct. 25, bringing together supporters to raise awareness and funds in the fight against sexual exploitation.

The event will take place in a ballroom setting at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix-Gilbert, 1800 S. Santan Village Parkway, Gilbert, with live music, dinner and tributes to survivors.

The evening will also recognize Valley philanthropist Michael Pollack and his wife, Cheryl Pollack, with the CeCe’s Hope Award, the organization’s highest honor.

“Supporting CeCe’s Hope Center is an honor,” Pollack said in a statement. “Survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation deserve more than compassion; they deserve opportunity, empowerment and a community that refuses to let them stand alone.”

Founded in 2017, CeCe’s Hope Center is named after a young woman who survived years of abuse and trafficking before her death in 2016. The nonprofit serves women ages 18 to 30 who have experienced sex trafficking or exploitation, offering housing, meals and a structured path to recovery and independence.

The organization’s programs include:

  • Safe housing and stabilization services;
  • A 12-month residential program with phased steps toward independence;
  • Case management and mental health support;
  • Life-skills training in financial literacy, routines and career readiness;
  • Mentorship and community connections.

Pollack and his wife are supporting this year’s gala as Beacon of Life sponsors and are underwriting the event’s live entertainment.

“Michael’s commitment to giving back has been a beacon of light for so many,” said Renee Lopez, co-founder and board chair of CeCe’s Hope Center. “Our distinguished honoree award is reserved for those whose impact is transformative.”

Pollack’s philanthropic work spans decades and includes support for organizations such as Child Crisis Arizona, Mayo Clinic, Banner Health Foundation, Save the Family, Boys & Girls Clubs, Special Olympics and Breakthrough T1D.

 Through the Daniel Heath Pollack Memorial Foundation, named for his late son, he has funded projects including a $50,000 playground and career development initiatives through Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona.

The gala will begin with a cocktail hour and plated dinner, followed by live entertainment and tributes. Attendees will be invited to become Hope Ambassadors, a role that extends beyond the event to support survivors rebuilding their lives.

Tickets and sponsorships, ranging from $250 to $15,000, are available at www.cecescenter.org/night-of-light.
