Proposed residential community could bring 3K new homes to Florence

With a public hearing behind them, plans to rezone 660 acres of land into what could be a more than 3,000-home master-planned community in Florence is heading to the town’s planning and zoning commission.

“We are working through our zoning case stipulations with the town staff right now, so it’s been a little bit of a back and forth, you know, collaborating on the stipulations for the case,” said Julie Vermillion, a project manager at Coe & Van Loo Consultants. “I don’t expect us to go to our first hearing until probably sometime in January.”
