The Apache Junction Unified School District has expanded its bus route boundaries for the 2024-25 school year.
With the addition of new bus stops, AJUSD aims to welcome students from surrounding areas, according to a release.
The expansion includes new stops for Apache Junction High School and Cactus Canyon Junior High School with Gen Tech Stem programs students residing outside AJUSD boundaries. These stops are at Meridian between Roundup and Shiprock, Meridian and Windsong, Warner Drive and Broadway Avenue, Gregory and Meridian, Ray and Lillian, and Whitley and Cedar, it states.
For Desert Vista Elementary School students attending the Four Peaks Dual-Language Immersion Kindergarten or Peralta Trail Gen Tech STEM programs, stops have been added at Desert Vista Elementary School, Junction Drive and Geronimo, Val Vista and Reavis, Scenic and Cactus, Thunderbird between 19th Avenue and Valley Drive at the park, Plaza Drive and 18th Avenue, Southern Avenue and Cortez, Ray and Lillian, and at the Boys and Girls Club.
Similarly, Four Peaks students attending Peralta Trail STEM or Desert Vista will benefit from new stops at Four Peaks Elementary School, Smythe and Broadway, the Boys and Girls Club, Warner and Windsong, Thunderbird and Fifth Avenue, Warner and Kaniksu, and at Valley and Acacia.
For Peralta Trail students attending Desert Vista or the Four Peaks Dual-Language Immersion Kindergarten, new stops are at Peralta Trail Elementary School, the gas station at Queen Valley Drive, North Camino Del Sol and East Verde Court, Belair and Mohave, Gold Canyon Community Church, and at 38th Avenue and Chaparral Road at the park.
