DOMESTIC INCIDENT

Chandler officer shoots, kills man armed with shotgun

Posted

A  32-year-old man was shot and killed by a Chandler officer Saturday during what police said was a domestic incident in the 900 block of East Laredo Street.

Jeremiah Louis Partridge died at the scene after Chandler police responded to the home just before 10:15 a.m.  June 27, police said.

The first officer to arrive saw a man holding a shotgun in the front yard of the home along with a woman sitting in a nearby vehicle, police said.

"Multiple commands were given to drop the shotgun, and this is when the officer-involved shooting occurred. One officer fired multiple rounds, striking the suspect," a Chandler Police Department release stated.

Life-saving measures were attempted, police said, but Partridge died at the scene.

The incident is being investigated by the Mesa Police Department under the East Valley Critical Incident Response Team protocol.
