Chandler's HR director has interim tag removed

Chandler City Manager John Pombier has announced the selection of Kristin Maier as Human Resources Director, bringing 26 years of human resources experience to the position.

Maier has worked for the city since 2019, and has served as the city’s acting human resources director since September of last year, according to a news release.

In the role, Maier oversees employee performance and relations, benefits and wellness, classification and compensation, organizational development, recruitment, retirement and employee health and safety programs for most of the city’s 2,300 employees.

“Kristin’s extensive human resources experience and institutional knowledge are essential to support our workforce of today and for tomorrow,” Pombier said.

Prior to joining Chandler, Maier was the human resources branch chief for the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia. She previously served in human resources roles for the cities of Henderson, Nev. and Dublin, Ohio.

Maier holds a master’s degree in human resources and is a Society of Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional.
