Section of Raindance Road alignment extinguished in Apache Junction

Posted

A federally patented easement of the Raindance Road alignment from First Avenue to Second Avenue in Apache Junction has been extinguished.

The City Council on March 7 voted unanimously to approve a resolution extinguishing the easement.

Easements were given to the city by the Bureau of Land Management in hopes that the city would take them over and build roads, Project Engineer Raquel Schatz said at the council meeting.

“The applicant, under advisement of development services, has extinguished all the utility easements for the purpose of future development within the current 33-foot right-of-way and public utility easements,” she said at the council meeting.

Noe Lopez, owner of the underlying property, filed an application for the extinguishment on Jan. 19, Schatz said in a written staff report.
