Peacock honors Queen Creek, Gilbert parks and recreation workers

Peacock, the NBCUniversal streaming service, is honoring Erica Perez, recreation supervisor for the Town of Queen Creek Parks and Recreation, and Jody Becker, park ranger for Gilbert Parks and Recreation, as two of the top parks and recreation officials in the country.

In celebration of the sitcom Parks and Recreation becoming exclusively available to stream for free in its entirety on Peacock, the streaming service is recognizing five parks and recreation workers from across the country, according to a release.

“Ms. Perez and Ms. Becker were chosen for their tireless work and dedication to the community. Among her many duties, Ms. Perez coordinates special events for the community and partners with organizations to bring exciting programs to Queen Creek; while Ms. Becker rescues and rehabilitates wildlife, facilitates a Junior Ranger program and works on graffiti abatement, in addition to her park ranger responsibilities,” the release states.

Interviews between Ms. Perez and Ms. Becker and actor Jim O’Heir, who played Jerry Gergich on Parks and Rec, will be available to stream on Peacock on Treat Yo’ Self Day 2020 — Oct. 13 — so viewers can learn about their inspiring stories. He is to present each with an award to thank them for creating a safe, friendly and free place where everyone can escape to enjoy the great outdoors, the release states.

The holiday was created by Parks and Rec characters as a day of extravagance and has been embraced by fans who celebrate it annually. Fans will have a chance to win a package of indulgences during Peacock’s upcoming Treat Yo’ Self Day sweepstakes. Go to Twitter @peacockTV.

They are: Ms. Perez; Ms. Becker; Carlos Garcia of Bakersfield, California; Kurt Wolf of McCall, Idaho; and Skot Latona of Littleton, Colorado.
