The Sonoran Arts League, a nonprofit company, announced the 30th annual Hidden in the Hills Artist Studio Tour will take place Nov. 20-22 and 27-29.
This year’s free, self-guided tour features 151 artists at 38 studios throughout the Desert Foothills communities of Cave Creek, Carefree and north Scottsdale.
Hidden in the Hills is Arizona’s largest and longest-running artist studio tour. Each artist’s studio is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during both weekends of the tour.
The League also announced that romantic realist painter Jeanne Bonine’s oil painting, “Welcome to My World,” will be on the cover of this year’s artist directory. The floral painting features golden blossoms set against soft purple hues.
Gail Haire, HITH event co-chair, said there were many strong submissions for cover art this year, but Bonine’s painting stood out.
“There’s a calm, dreamlike quality to Jeanne’s art, and we were all struck by the sense of gentle movement and wonder in her painting and her unique tapestry of colors,” Haire, an oil painter, said. “Her painting stirred a sense of peace and beauty that resonated with us, especially for the 30th anniversary of our Hidden in the Hills artist studio tour.”
Bonine has painted professionally for more than 60 years. A longtime member of the Sonoran Arts League and HITH studio host, she will welcome guests again at Studio No. 15. Her oils and watercolors invite tour guests to experience exotic birds, gardens and a single rose.
Guests can experience more than 65 of her originals and limited edition giclées hung throughout her home and studio. She will also feature her yearly heirloom hand painted ornaments, new greeting card sets, mini oils on easels and her coffee table book, “Inspirations of Timeless Beauty.”
