Dixon Golf, a manufacturer of high-performance, eco-friendly golf balls, announced the opening of its new corporate headquarters July 24.
The company is moving from Gilbert to 3245 N. Nevada St., which is in a business park neighborhood along Arizona Avenue in north Chandler.
Chandler’s Economic Development team, in a news release, called Dixon’s new 10,000-square-foot facility “state of the art,”saying it reinforces Dixon’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The new headquarters is designed with future expansion in mind, the release states, allowing Dixon Golf to scale operations as demand grows for its environmentally friendly products.
Micah Miranda, director of economic development for Chandler, told Independent Newsmedia previously that his team spends far more time on locating, relocating and helping meet needs of small and midsize business compared to that of giant corporations.
Developing a “green-tech” private sector of companies that are environmentally conscious is a stated Chandler priority, Miranda said in the release.
“Dixon Golf’s investment in Uptown Chandler is a strong endorsement of the employment corridor as a magnet for innovative and entrepreneurial companies,” Miranda said. “Their presence brings high-quality jobs, supports our growing clean-tech sector, and reinforces Chandler’s reputation as a premier destination for companies committed to both performance and purpose.”
William Carey, CEO of Dixon Golf, also touched on sustainability in his statement about the move to Chandler.
“Our new headquarters embodies Dixon Golf’s mission to lead the golf industry towards a greener future,” Carey stated. “By integrating sustainable practices into our operations, we’re setting a new standard for what it means to be an eco-conscious company.”
The facility boasts numerous features, including energy-efficient systems, desert landscaping and minimal waste practices in its daily operations.
The release states those initiatives align with the company’s broader environmental goals.
The company’s website, dixongolf.com, brags on its “Greenovations” program, which Dixon says focuses on reducing the manufacturing footprint with a “reduce, reuse and recycle” model.
Founded in 2008, Dixon products include its Dixon “Earth,” “Wind” and “Fire” golf balls. Its main sustainability claim is its golf balls “are comprised of heavy earth salts rather than heavy metal fillers.”
The company also sells hats that it states are made from bamboo or organic cotton that isn't chemically treated.
