Gilbert Town Council approves ambulance rate increases

Posted

The Gilbert Town Council approved a rate increase on the town’s ambulance services at its May 16 meeting.

The 3.95% rate increase was authorized by the Arizona Department of Health Services, which did it for all Certificate of Necessity holders on ambulance services.

Under the new rates, basic life support will cost $944.32 and advanced life support will be $1,059.65. Mileage will be charged at $18.34 per mile and stand-by at $236.09 per hour.

The vote was unanimous, though Council Member Yung Koprowski was absent, and was conducted along with two other public-hearing items for liquor licenses.

Council also voted to direct staff to publish a Notice of Intention to collect credit card service/surcharge fees for town billing activities. It will set a maximum surcharge fee of 4% for non-utility business services and a maximum $4 convenience fee per transaction for utility business services.
