Gilbert staff and town council members are meeting Dec. 11 in a workshop to discuss how to prioritize the town’s capital improvement projects.
The meeting comes a month after staff reported to council at its annual strategic retreat how construction inflation was eating up available funds the town set aside to pay for those projects.
Staff reported last month Gilbert does not have enough money set aside to pay for the projects it had planned for the next fiscal year.
In fact, the town will look closely at public safety projects for the police and fire departments as well as parks and recreation department.
They also will discuss how to approach funding for the projects, all of which are considered necessary to maintain safety and quality of life in the town.
