In the Sun City West and Sun City Independent newsroom we work to provide weekly crime reports online and in print, when space permits.
The Independent newsroom hosted a May 18 meet and greet with residents and received great feedback and answered questions from readers.
We often hear from readers who reach out asking more specifically about items on the crime report.
The incidents listed on the “MCSO District three crime reports for the Sun Cities” come directly from Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District three headquarters, 13063 W. Bell Road.
While there are incidents listed, we do not have the full scope of the report, and some incidents reported, such as warrants, dead bodies, suicides and mental health calls, are left off our published list.
In the event there is pattern or a specific event that warrants further information, we will file a public information request with MCSO downtown to obtain any further available information. However, keep in mind, if MCSO is investigating a particular incident, nothing further will be available.
Throughout the year, the Sun City West and Sun City Posses produce monthly reports from their own logged information. These items include things such as open garage doors, welfare checks, missing persons, animal concert, community assistance and others. This report is often referred to in various stories and is provided directly from Posse commanders.
