Chandler Municipal Airport continues to operate as usual despite the federal government shutdown, as is the City Clerk’s passport service, according to a spokesperson.
No Chandler city services or operations have been impacted during the initial days of the most recent federal government shutdown, according to a spokesperson.
Chandler’s Matt Burdick said there haven’t been any interruptions or scaling back of services that are either under direct federal oversight or involve federal employees in some way.
“We continue to deliver services without pause or disruption,” Burdick said.
Burdick said passports continue to be processed per our normal procedures and pace, via the Chandler City Clerk’s office.
“We have not been made aware of any changes to our processes by the U.S. Department of State, either,” Burdick said.
There is also no impact to the Chandler Municipal Airport and its operations due to the federal shutdown that began Oct. 1, Burdick said.
“The Federal Aviation Administration local offices and air traffic control tower are essential services that continue to operate during the shutdown,” Burdick said
