As triple-digit temperatures hit the Valley, two Valley businesses helped keep families safe and fed at a recent event, according to a news release.
The Taco Spot, a Chandler-founded restaurant, prepared and distributed 1,000 complimentary meals at the Copa Univision Arizona youth soccer tournament the weekend of May 23 in Glendale.
Valley Toyota Dealers covered the cost of the 1,000 tacos. Also, Valley Toyota Dealers sponsored the only on-site misting cooling system at the tournament.
The tourney, which drew 900 youth athletes, was held at a park off of Loop 101 in the Glendale area, near State Farm Stadium.
“Food has always been a way people connect, especially within Hispanic communities,” said Raul Martinez, director of marketing and business development at The Taco Spot, stated in the news release.
