Chandler gets recertified in preventing trafficking

CEASE, or Cities Empowered Against Sexual Exploitation, is a designation for which the city of Chandler recently was recertified by the Arizona Anti-Trafficking Network.

Those involved took a photo at the Feb. 26 Chandler City Council meeting with Council member O.D. Harris and Mayor Kevin Hartke.
Meza said that in order to earn the CEASE certification, cities must train at least 75% of their workforce on trafficking and integrate it into staff development.

He thanked the mayor, council, city administration and especially the Chandler Police Department’s anti-trafficking unit for their support in getting CEASE recertified.

The ATTN’s website states the mission of the CEASE Arizona program is to “train and educate employees of Arizona cities and counties, including first responders (law enforcement and fire/EMTs), to recognize, report, and respond to incidents of human trafficking in their communities thereby disrupting demand for commercial sexual exploitation.”
