Jewish War Veterans Copper State Post 619 raised more than $17,000 in donations collections at 10 Fry’s grocery stores in the Phoenix East Valley over Veterans Day weekend. This is the first poppy campaign where shoppers who don’t carry cash were able to donate to help homeless, hospitalized and at-risk veterans by using a digital payment network; the Post took in $500 via Zelle. From the left are JWV veteran Gabe Forsberg, JWV volunteer Dawn Quinn and Zelle donor and Chandler-area resident Bri Armijo.
