Chandler-area teachers among Cardinals, SRP ‘Touchdown’ winners

Posted

The Arizona Cardinals are once again helping fund classrooms across the state through the SRP Touchdowns for Teachers Program, according to a news release.

Chandler-area winners include Joan Mullins of St. Mary Basha Catholic School, Hailey Meyer of Summit Academy, Jennifer Bogue of Arizona College Prep Middle School, Nicole Mansfield of Knox Gifted Academy, Wendy Hueter of Weinberg Gifted Academy, Shoneisha Myers of Skyline Gila River, Stacy Poppe of Rice Elementary School, Regina Aldridge of Desert Sun Child Development Center, Tasmen Moreno of Casteel High School, Cindy Camacho of Sanborn Elementary, Kaylee Dean of Tarwater Elementary, Carrie Severin of Hamilton High and Amanda K. of Auxier Elementary.

For the seventh consecutive year, the Salt River Project utility is partnering with the Cardinals on the Touchdowns for Teachers program, awarding $500 grants to two teachers every time the Cardinals scored a touchdown.

For the 2025 season, 80 teachers received $40,000 in grants through the 40 touchdowns scored by the Cardinals. SRP commits $60,000 to support the Touchdowns for Teachers program each year, and will provide an additional $20,000 to reach that goal.
Since the program started, SRP has provided over $400,000 to help fund classrooms in Arizona.

Touchdowns for Teachers grants give teachers the chance to purchase essential classroom resources to support learning opportunities that students might not have otherwise, the release states.

SRP provides more than $2 million annually in teacher resources and grants, it states.
