“These results don’t happen by accident,” said Regan. “They’re a result of talented educators, dedicated support staff, strong leadership, engaged families, and students who are challenged and encouraged to reach their potential.”
Regan emphasized the work educators put into their students.
“These accomplishments are worth celebrating. Not simply because they are relating to strong scores, but because they represent the collective work of an entire school district committed to excellence,” she said.
Regan thanked the newest chief financial officer, David Wheeler, for jumping in and “navigating the complex financial challenges facing our district.” She is hopeful for the future of the district.
“As I reflect on these first two weeks, I'm encouraged,” she said. “Not because everything’s been perfect, but because I've witnessed a district that responds to challenges with professionalism, optimism, and a commitment to one another, one another.”
Since Regan joined the district in July, she has been welcomed with open arms. She saw many valuable aspects of the district in the first two weeks of the school year, she said.
“I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand the excellence in our district, taking place every day in our schools, and equally important to experience the warmth and welcoming spirit of our staff, students, and families,” she said. “The professionalism…the dedication, and just the pure heart of our employees, I truly would have made this school year such a successful launch. There is an unmistakable sense of pride in Cave Creek Unified School District, and I’m grateful to be a part of it.”
