Cave Creek Unified officials announced at the Aug. 11 board meeting that staff members will be recognized publicly every month for their efforts during the school year.
Board president Janet Greer-Busbee, as well as the rest of the school board, stood in front of parents and teachers in the crowd and announced this new tradition.
“It’s a new school year, so we got a new habit,” said Greer-Busbee. “We’ve already had stories rolling in about the staff member who stayed late…The person who shows up early and left late and did more than a job description technically required. We did it just because it was the right thing to do. And that happens a lot in this district.”
