Carefree urges residents to speak out on waste transfer station closures

The Maricopa County Environmental Services Department will hold a public workshop regarding the closure of six regional transfer stations 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Supervisor’s Auditorium, 205 W. Jefferson St., Phoenix. The workshop will also be available to view online.

The town of Carefree urges residents to speak out on these closures, which includes the Cave Creek station, 3955 E. Carefree Highway.

According to a PSA sent out by the town of Carefree, the closure of this transfer station will result in “longer disposal trips and additional costs” and inconvenient disposal will “disincentivize vegetation cleanup.”
