Two more businesses have opened at Epicenter, the vertical mixed-use development in Gilbert’s Agritopia neighborhood.
Barre3 fitness studio opened Sept. 15 at 3150 E. Ray Road, Ste. 112, Gilbert, while Peixoto Coffee Roasters opened Sept. 27 in Suite 100.
Andrea Laughlin, owner of barre3, said prior to Epicenter’s opening that she had been aiming to put a studio into the development for a few years, joking that she “stalked” Johnston & Co. CEO William Johnston for the opportunity dating back to the opening of the Barnone maker space in Agritopia in 2016.
“[Johnston] didn't know what barre3 was about, but he really supported us from day one,” Laughlin said. “When epicenter broke ground, he said you have a spot here. So we were a hundred percent on board.”
Laughlin said the barre3 workout is a combination of cardio, strength conditioning and mindful movement, like Pilates or yoga.
“I think what really draws us back to barre3 every single day is not just the workout, but the community we built, the people within our walls and our staff,” she said. “We truly believe you attract your people. We've been really fortunate to grow a really solid, loving heart, warming community and staff.”
Peixoto Coffee Roasters is one of a few coffee companies in the world that farms, roasts, and serves its own family-farmed coffees.
The shop, like the one that has operated in Chandler for eight years, features espresso beverages, pour-overs, cold-brew, teas, seasonal beverages, whole bean coffees from the Peixoto farm and other farmers, house-made syrups,, and baked goods and products by local artisans.
“We have created a beautiful space that reflects our long-standing family legacy of coffee farming, combined with modern elements of a specialty coffee, including our double-sided espresso bar which will allow us to bring a high-quality and high-volume experience to our guests,” owner Julia Peixoto Peters said in a release. “Our customers can expect the same classic and seasonal offerings we have in Chandler, and the enduring partnerships we have in place with other small and craft businesses such as our bakers and retail.”
