The Mesa Public Schools governing board voted unanimously at an Oct. 29 meeting to renew a contract that will allow for the purchase of facility electronic systems for the district.
The $3 million contract renewal will provide the funding for installation of security, card access and video surveillance systems as well as intercoms, panic buttons and more, according to board documents.
The board said the contract is vital to maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff and facilities in the district. Board documents state the district intends to use vendor Climatec LLC for the contract which will be entering its third year in a five-year term starting Nov. 15, 2024, to Nov. 15, 2025.
