Chandler school staff honored for helping expand Early College

Posted

Two Chandler Unified School District staff were each given an “And Then Some” award plaque by Superintendent Frank Narducci at the CUSD Governing Board’s Nov. 13 meeting.

Chandler Early College coordinator Janeen Scaringelli and office manager Teri King were honored for their efforts in helping grow the Early College program.

The “And Then Some” awards recognize CUSD staff and volunteers who go above-and-beyond in their roles.

Chandler Early College is a nontraditional high school on the campus of Chandler-Gilbert Community College, operated by CUSD.

The partnership allows CUSD high school students to take both high school and college courses at the same time, completing as much as a first full year of associate’s degree courses.

According to CUSD administration, enrollment in the Early College program is up and it’s growing, thanks largely to the work of Scaringelli and King.
