Founded in 1887, the Liberty Elementary School District No. 25 spans 285 square miles. It has seven kindergarten through eighth grade schools between Buckeye and Goodyear, educating more than 4,500 students.

Las Brisas Academy, an elementary school in Goodyear, is one of five local schools to receive the prestigious Extra Yard for Teachers Grant from Arizona State University.
The grant is awarded in recognition of Las Brisas' dedication to the education and well being of its educators.
“Receiving the Extra Yard for Teachers Grant from Arizona State University is an incredible honor for Las Brisas Academy,” Las Brisas Academy Principal Sara Schaefer shared in a press release. “This grant reflects the dedication of our educators and their commitment to providing the best possible education for our students.”
Las Brisas is located at 18211 W. Las Brisas Drive, and is part of Liberty Elementary School District No. 25.
ASU has partnered with the Pac 12 Conference and the College Football Playoff Foundation to celebrate "Extra Yard for Teachers Week."
The Extra Yard for Teachers Grant will provide resources to aid Las Brisas Academy in continuing its mission of empowering educators and enriching the lives of students.
“We are proud of Las Brisas Academy and their support of staff and students,” Interim Superintendent Dr. Cort Monroe stated. “Their selection for the Extra Yard for Teachers Grant by Arizona State University is a testament to the remarkable dedication of our school community.”
