When and why I moved here: I moved to Arizona in 2000 with my siblings and parents — we love the West for the weather and the kind people. Although we moved around the country, I’ve always considered Arizona home. I was fortunate enough to attend medical school at the University of Arizona and complete my residency training at St Joseph’s Hospital here in Phoenix. It warms my heart to be able to give back to the community that taught me everything I know about health.

What I like most about living here: The people, the warm weather and the mountains.

What I do: I’m a primary care physician and the regional medical director for Oak Street Health. We are focused on building excellent primary care for seniors on Medicare. We opened our first Arizona clinic in Apache Junction on Jan. 7 and we are honored to be able to serve the local community.

What I like most about what I do: Our mission is to rebuild healthcare the way it should be. We seek to deliver the highest quality medical care and help patients navigate the complexity of the healthcare system. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve the community and develop trusting relationships with my patients.

Changes I’d like to see in this area: I’m incredibly excited to help bring increased primary care for seniors to Apache Junction and the greater Phoenix community, especially during the uncertainty of the pandemic. We hope that residents of Apache Junction see Oak Street Health as a location not only to receive amazing healthcare but also to connect and develop relationships with fellow residents. We hope to offer classes and community events at our clinic once the pandemic improves.

Favorite community cause & why: Superstition Community Food Bank. I’m inspired by their efforts to bring this vital service to the local community.

My family: My wife Nathasha and our dog Ziva, who we rescued from a local animal rescue. We definitely spoil her because she deserves it.

My interests and hobbies: Playing sports and taking Ziva on walks.

The trait(s) I admire in others: Kindness towards others.

People who inspired me (and how): I’m inspired by the author Michael Singer. His work to help others understand and reframe life’s journey is something we can all learn from.

My guiding philosophy: My guiding philosophy in medicine is to deliver the same level of care as I would want my family to have. That guides me when not only making decisions with patients but also in the processes we develop.
