Superstition Fire and Medical District replacing ladder-truck engine

Ladder 264, a fire truck operated by the Superstition Fire and Medical District, will get a new engine under a recently approved $96,000 contract.

The SFMD governing board voted unanimously on Oct. 21 to approve a consent agenda with other items including paying $96,525.51 to Velocity Truck Centers.

Velocity is a sole-source authorized Detroit Engine dealer to provide the warranty-eligible installation, David Pohlmann, SFMD assistant chief for support services, wrote in a memo to the governing board.
