New solar array to lower electricity costs at Apache Junction Sewer District

The solar array that was recently connected at the Apache Junction Sewer District facilities on South Ironwood Drive is to shave 35% from the district’s $25,000-a-month utility bill.

“Solar is operational... We’ve been testing it and (SRP) yesterday were also testing it some more so we hope to have more on that at the next meeting,” Sewer District Manager Darron Anglin said during the sewer board’s Oct. 27 meeting.

A letter of acceptance was received from SRP, a sewer official said.
