The Apache Junction Public Arts Commission on Feb. 10 approved the logo over four others.

Apache Junction Founders’ Centennial Committee logo competition finalists chosen

"The seven members of the commission critiqued all five of the designs and eventually chose the winner," according to a release.

"We look forward to moving forward and celebrating the 100 year anniversary of Apache Junction's founding," the release states.

Apache Junction was founded by George Curtis and was settled in 1922.

The centennial of that decision is approaching and volunteers have begun meeting to plan a year-long celebration for 2022.
