Through the Wells Fargo Drive-Up Food Bank, the bank and United Food Bank will provide food items such as produce, bread, dairy and frozen meat to Apache Junction residents Wednesdays through Oct. 21 .
The food distribution is 6 p.m. every Wednesday Sept. 2-Oct. 21 at Wells Fargo, 2891 W. Apache Trail, according to a release.
No I.D. or information is required to receive food boxes. Clients must wear masks and clean the trunks of their vehicles.
Drive up to the distribution, remain in your vehicle and pop open the trunk so volunteers can place groceries directly into the vehicle.
A total of 300 or more families are expected to seek assistance every week, the release states.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on many families. Many people are struggling financially and facing tough choices between paying for food, shelter, or other necessities, the release states.
The bank is underwriting the meals and hosting food distribution at its properties in more than 20 cities across the country this summer. The overall goal of the program is to provide more than 50 million meals nationally.
