Recent national surveys show that a growing majority see the skilled trades as more essential to the American dream than a college education. On Jan. 31, East Valley families and Phoenix-area adults will get to see 50 different skilled trades in action at the EVIT Expo in Mesa.
The annual open house featuring demonstrations and interactive exhibits draws about 5,000 guests to the East Valley Institute of Technology every year to see the career training programs available for high school and adult students, according to a release.
The expo is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, at the EVIT Main Campus, 1601 W. Main St. in Mesa. Programs from the EVIT Power Campus and Coronado Fire Academy in Scottsdale will also be showcased at EVIT Expo.
