The grant, totaling $2,500, will provide crucial support to enhance educational resources and opportunities for students at Cactus Canyon, 801 W. Southern Ave., according to a release.
Created in 2016, the Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers program grants classroom wishes to teachers across the state of Arizona.
The grant funds awarded to Cactus Canyon will be allocated towards fulfilling various resource wishes identified by the school community. These wishes include:
Materials for a life skills unit on nutrition and cooking;
Additional books for class book sets for novel studies;
Headphones for students who need them; and
Snacks and goodies for a class store, and a few other necessities such as tissues and water.
These resources will play a vital role in enriching the educational experience for students at Cactus Canyon, providing them with the tools and support they need to succeed both academically and personally, the release states.
“We are immensely grateful to Fiesta Bowl Charities for their generous support. This grant will enable us to purchase much-needed supplies and further enrich our students’ daily educational journey. Thank you, Fiesta Bowl Charities,” CCJHS Principal Phyllis Bellemare said in the release.
The AJUSD community extends its heartfelt appreciation to Fiesta Bowl Charities for its commitment to advancing education and making a positive impact on the lives of students across Arizona, the release states.
