For the first time in Apache Junction High School’s history, 11 students have been recognized in the Journalism Education Association’s National Student Media Contest, earning a total of eight superior ratings, a distinction given to no more than 10% of the entries.

In addition to individual successes, the 2024 yearbooks from both Cactus Canyon Junior High and Apache Junction High School in the Apache Junction Unified School District have been honored by being named to the prestigious Walsworth Gallery of Excellence.
