The City of Apache Junction has selected Anna McCray, the city’s current human resources director and a longtime member of the organization’s leadership team, to work as deputy city manager.
In the newly established role, McCray will join City Manager Bryant Powell and Assistant City Manager Matt Busby in providing executive leadership and oversight across city departments, major initiatives and organizational priorities, according to a release.
The deputy city manager position was created earlier this year through the reclassification of existing positions within the City Manager’s Office. The expanded leadership structure provides additional executive-level capacity to support departments, advance major initiatives and maintain a high level of service as Apache Junction continues to grow.
