Apache Junction Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Robert Pappalardo has been named the 2025 School Connect Changemaker Award recipient.
Presented at the annual Champions of Education Awards on May 1, the Changemaker Award honors a superintendent who brings innovative solutions to their district while building strong networks of support across multiple sectors. Recipients are recognized for casting a compelling vision for education and forging partnerships that create meaningful, system-wide impact, according to a release.
Pappalardo was celebrated for his leadership in fostering collaborative community initiatives and championing district-wide strategies that put students first, it states.
“This award is truly a reflection of our entire AJUSD community,” Pappalardo said in the releae. “Our educators, staff, families and partners all share in this recognition. I believe that when we all work together — across schools, neighborhoods and sectors — we create the kind of environment where every student can thrive. I’m incredibly honored to accept this on behalf of AJUSD, a district that leads with heart and purpose.”
Under Pappalardo’s leadership, AJUSD continues to embody its mission as a small district with a big heart and endless possibilities — proving that size is no barrier to innovation, excellence and lasting impact, the release states.
