The Apache Junction High School Prospectors (2-14) matched up against the Dysart Demons (8-8) on Jan. 12. The Prospectors were looking to turn their season around. The Demons were looking to make a final push leading up to the postseason in the final weeks of the season.

The Dysart Demons trampled the Prospectors.

The Demons won the tip off and took an early lead and never gave it back as the Demons were able to take possession of the ball on almost every occasion.

The second half concluded with a 30-4 Demons lead, as their phenomenal defensive performance stumped the Prospectors’ offense.

The second half was not much better, as Junior PG/SG Torah Dial dominated the Prospectors offense. She seemingly took every opportunity she had to swat and steal the ball away. A mix of that and with an offensive explosion in the third quarter, the Demons led 48-5 heading into the final quarter of the game.

The Prospectors were able to grasp a little momentum in the closing minutes, notching eight points in the fourth quarter. However it was too little too late and the Dysart Demons came out on top 56-12.
