$250K roundabout art agreement planned in Apache Junction

The Apache Junction City Council on Monday will discuss a $250,000 professional services agreement with artist Karen Yank to design, purchase and install art within the roundabout at State Route 88 and Superstition Boulevard.

The council has a work session at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, in the council chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.

Apache Junction’s Art in Public and Private Development Program is funded by an art fee within qualified building permit fees for new commercial and multifamily developments and renovations of mixed-use or nonresidential buildings. No taxpayer funds are used to support the program, Planner Erika Hernandez said in a memo to the council.
